RED BRIDGE

Parents of Red Bridge Rockers,
It is our genuine pleasure to once again be partnering with Red Bridge to be able to offer this amazing creative opportunity to the Red Bridge rockers. Over the next few months we will be introducing the rockers to RBL, explore the various instruments used in rock music, we’ll form a band, learn two songs (one RBL cover song and one original that we’ll write with the band!), and put on a killer show. It’s going to great in every single way!

Weekly Recap (Week 1)
As this was our first meeting / rehearsal we spent some time at the top of class getting to know the rockers and introducing them to the castle. We shared our collective love for onions, appreciation for blowfish light fixtures, and some of the rockers asked if they could live here. We, of course, said, “Yes.”

We spent the lion’s share of the class introducing the rockers to the instruments and our various music studios. They had lengthy jams on the instruments in which they shared musical ideas to be used in their original song. At the end of class we took initial requests for which instruments the rockers would like to focus on throughout this session.

It was an excellent start to a great session.

Practice Materials
Though not required, if your rocker has the ability to practice at home it will certainly enrich this experience and make them better prepared for the final show. RBL will also supply all materials and will supplement per specific rocker’s needs.

Song Materials Folder - This folder includes lyrics, and lesson of various levels per instrument. It will be updated as we go, as songs are added, and as specific needs of rockers becomes apparent.

Final Performance
This rich experience will culminate with a live performance by the participating rockers at RBL's Castle Bing Bong (400-E Treat Ave) at 3:45 on Friday, March 6. All are invited. Please mark your calendars.

Please note: because of the wide variety of abilities and experience within these players, and dependent on the final instrumentation of the bands, RBL staff may supplement the band’s playing to best support them and help them blow minds at their shows.
